As if yesterday wasn't embarrassing enough for the Republican party, Rep. Rapey McForehead sent a letter asking why Kevin McCarthy is allowed to occupy the Speaker's office. McCarthy moved his stuff in there without securing the votes necessary to be elevated to the Speaker of the House.
It's an absolute shitshow, and there's more coming today as the House holds the fourth vote for Speaker since McCarthy was a three-time loser on Tuesday.
"How long will he remain there before he is considered a squatter?" Gaetz wrote before adding that Kevin McCarthy can "no longer be considered the Speaker-Designate" after he failed to garner the votes necessary for the Speakership.
Interestingly, it's the MAGA Republicans that do not want McCarthy as Speaker even though Trump endorsed him. It appears that Trump's grip on the GOP is waning. The one-term president put out an all-caps message this morning on Truth Social.

This should be interesting. Cannibalism is usually not something I'm into, but in this case, I'm OK with watching them eat their own.
