Rep. Aguilar from California nominated Hakeem Jeffries of New York to be Speaker of the House during today's 118th Congress. Under normal circumstances this would not be newsworthy or any sort of issue at all, but since House Republicans are embroiled in infighting and backstabbing, it's quite the troll by the Democratic Party.
The Democratic party is unified, while the MAGA -GOP is an utter sh*t show.
"Madam Clerk, I rise today at the direction of the House Democratic caucus to place into nomination for election to the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives the pride of Brooklyn, Hakeem Jeffries of New York," Aguilar said. "Today, Madam Clerk, today, Madam Clerk, House Democrats are united -- united by a Speaker who will put people over politics."
The Democratic Caucus broke out in raucous cheers! It was an excellent speech.
At this juncture, Kevin McCarthy's bid to become the Speaker has already failed on the first ballot. This is the first time in a hundred years that a second ballot is required to vote for a Speaker.
The Republican Party continually shows the American people that they are a rudderless, headless, extremist entity incapable of working for the American people.
