This past July, by a nearly four-to-one margin, so-called pro-life Idaho Republicans rejected an amendment to the party platform that would have provided an exception for a mother who has an abortion to save her life.
A woman in Idaho who is miscarrying and has been denied an abortion because of the anti-choice state law has been documenting herself on TikTok getting sicker and sicker over the last two days.
On the social site, Carmen Jubilee (@GeekyNerdBitch) has quite a few clips up, and it's horrifying to watch as she returns to the hospital again and again because she's in pain, but she they cannot help her.
Jubilee is making some progress, though. About two hours ago, she commented, "I was, in fact, denied a D and C. I am getting the medication that helps my body finish the job, so that's something."
That's not good enough, though. A woman shouldn't have to beg for help while in pain. Her body is rejecting the fetus, so what are Republicans gaining by forcing her to go through this terrifying journey? Again, this is meant to punish women.
