Fox "news" liar and Russian state television's favorite propagandist was at it again immediately following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address to Congress, accusing him of waging "war against Christianity."

It's too bad no one has looked into whether anyone other than Rupert Murdoch is paying this guy to be a mouthpiece for Putin.

Here's yet another unhinged rant from Carlson, lying about Zelensky supposedly "banning" Christianity in Ukraine and going after Republican leadership in the process:

TUCKER CARLSON (HOST): If you were a Republican office-holder and Zelensky came to Washington, maybe you would, for a moment, ask him about his current and ongoing war against Christianity in Ukraine. Especially if you were, say, Mitch McConnell or John Cornyn and a lot of your own voters go to church on Sunday. They might care about that issue.

But McConnell and Cornyn didn't mention that. They didn't say a word. You will not hear a word on television tonight about the fact that Zelensky has banned an entire ancient Christian denomination in Ukraine, and then seized churches, and then thrown priests into jail.

According to Mitch McConnell -- who apparently hasn't left his office since the mid 80s -- anti-Christian despotism is what most Republicans want, above all. They don't get enough. They're just begging for it.

Eve Edwards at Culture discussed why Carlson's attacks are ridiculous:

Earlier this month, a motion was put forth by the Ukrainian government that churches affiliated with Russia would be prevented from running. This is because, Reuters reports, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) ordered investigations into suspected “subversive activities of Russian special services in the religious environment of Ukraine.” They also called for sanctions against a number of unspecified individuals.

The investigation is mainly directed at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), which is accused of having links to Moscow. SBU conducted raids on several UOC sites across Ukraine, searching for weapons and Russian collaborators, Christian Post reports.

Is Zelensky banning Christianity?

No, President Volodymyr Zelensky is not ‘banning’ Christianity in Ukraine or forbidding following Christian faith.

Zelensky and the Ukrainian government aren’t ‘banning’ or outlawing Christian faith, but have proposed restricting churches connected to Russia in light of the ongoing war.

This, however, has still alarmed some people that there’s a crackdown on religious faith. In May, Metropolitan Onufriy, primate of the UOC, reportedly declared parishes were no longer subordinate to the Russian Orthodox Church.
