It's normally a little early to worry about clearing the snow off of one's roof, but the recent pounding that Buffalo, New York just took should be a reminder to keep those roof rakes handy. It's important not to let too much snow accumulate on the roof or it could cause roof collapses (I know from personal experience.) Also, in the spring, too much snow can melt and refreeze and cause ice dams which will also damage your roof.

But there are right ways and wrong ways of doing it. The video gives lots of examples of both ways.
