RNC Chair Ronna-Don't-Call-Me-Romney McDaniel tells CNN's Dana Bash that they "cannot pay legal bills for any candidate that's announced," so it seems that one of the former Grifter-in-Chief's sources of revenue is finally about to be cut off.
Why in holy hell they were ever paying Trump's legal fees in the first place is beyond me. I guess they're just fond of taking money and lighting it on fire.
Here's the exchange from this Sunday's State of the Union:
BASH: ... Donald Trump, he is already saying that he is going to run again.
The RNC has paid more than $2.3 million to law firms representing him and his legal battles. If and when he does announce -- announce, will you stop paying his legal fees?
MCDANIEL: We cannot pay legal bills for any candidate that's announced.
So these are bills that came from the Letitia James lawsuit that started while he was president. It was voted on by our executive committee for our former president that this was a politically motivated investigation. And that's what it's been for.
BASH: So, no more?
MCDANIEL: But we cannot. We cannot do in-kind contributions to any candidate.
Right now, he's the former president who's being attacked from every which way with lawsuits. And he's certainly raised more into the RNC than we have spent on these bills.
Bash then asked McDaniel if Trump is going to announce soon and if McDaniel wanted him to announce soon, which was met with nervous laughter and a non-response that she's "only focused on 2022" and doesn't even know what she's doing for Thanksgiving. So, in other words, no Dana, she doesn't want him to run, but she's not going to say that out loud.
