On Friday night, there was a debate between Senator Ron Johnson and his Democratic opponent, Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes. For the most part, Barnes repeatedly kept putting RoJo in his place and using him as a mop to clean up the studio. But on occasion, RoJo did the dirty work himself and just imploded with out Barnes doing much of anything.
One such occurrence happened when the question about the electoral college reform bill came up. Both candidates said yes, but not before RoJo went on a bizarre tangent about the BLM protests. But then there was a follow up question which caused RoJo's little peabrain to explode:
Reporter:: Yes, last month I had a chance to interview former Vice President Mike Pence when he was visiting Wausau. When referring to his actions on January 6, when he resisted pressure from former President Trump to overturn the election and refused to accepts the slates of fake electors including some that were offered to him by Senator Johnson's office, he said he acted out of respect for the US Constitution. We'd like for you both to go on the record, did the former Vice President do the right thing? Senator Johnson, you can go first. You have one minute.
RoJo: Let me clear things up here. I had no idea when I got a call from the lawyer from the President of the United States to deliver something to the Vice President, to have a staff member that could help out with that. I had no idea what it was. The fact that matters is nothing was delivered the whole time. It took less than an hour. I wasn't even involved. So I had no knowledge of also of fake electors. I voted to confirm, not to disallow any of President Biden's electors. So from my standpoint, this is not an issue. But I know it's being blown out because we want to focus on January 6, when we also also should be looking at the violence that occurred in 570 riots against 2000 law enforcement officers injured in those nights. A couple dozen people lost their lives, including two in Kenosha, because the Lieutenant Governor, the Governor didn't provide the type the manpower to quell those riots. But one or two billion dollars through property damage is why we focus a little bit on 507 riots.
Moderator: Senator Johnson, your time is out. But again, the question was did Mike Pence do the right thing on January 6?
RoJo: Yes, you know, President Biden is now President of the United States.
Barnes: Well I would say that push back, the Republican chair from Kenosha, that the governor answered every call and gave all the resources that they requested. Let's clear that up. He may not have noticed the insurrection was happening because he called those people patriots. He called them tourists. These are the folks that he supported. This is an act that he supported. You can make whatever comparisons he wants to. But the reality is this was an attempted overthrow of the Government, of trying to overturn a free and fair election. So the answer is yes. The Vice President did do the right thing
With all of RoJo's flailing around, there are a couple of points that need to be emphasized.
First, even as RoJo is denying involvement with the fake electors, he has repeatedly admitted to being involved. Not only that, but the time of his involvement is expanding. It started out as just a few seconds and has now moved up to "up to an hour." Secondly, he also admitted that he was directly involved, getting a text from Trump's lawyer to forward these slates of fake electors to Pence. It's only a matter of time before he admits that he was involved a way more than he has admitted so far.
There will be another debate next week, on Friday, the Thirteenth of October. RoJo might as well just phone it in. Who knows, he might actually do better if he's not there.
