In response to the ATF director's warning about the rise of domestic terrorism, Fox News host Laura Ingraham demanded all these "agencies" that call out right-wing extremism to be defunded and discarded.
Fox News played a clip of Steve Dettelbach, the ATF’s first Senate-approved leader in seven years explaining the issues at hand.
“I think the first thing we need to do is, to be honest about the fact that we have a problem,” he said. “I will tell you, it’s gotten more bold, more brazen and more violent.”
Rep. Tom Massie (R-KY) was upset at the ATF for trying to thwart domestic terrorism in the country and quipped to Fox News that anyone now can be considered a domestic terrorist.
"Maybe you grow your own food. Now you're gonna be labeled as such," Masse said.
Huh?
"It's time to defund the agencies that are targeting the American people," Laura Ingraham replied. "That's what we're going to be expecting of our Congress when Republicans take over."
Ingraham who attacked the African American community for protesting over police violence against minorities, and mocked anyone who wants to rethink how local law enforcement does their job, now calls for agencies like the ATF, DHS, and FBI to be defunded and discarded because they rightly have warned the country about right-wing violent extremism.
You may recall that this happened before, in 2009, when DHS correctly noted a rise in right-wing, white supremacist, violent extremism (wonder why). Michelle Malkin, Brit Hume, and Glenn Beck threw a massive fit and the Obama (OH, that's right) administration changed the subject.
Ingraham mostly ignored the attack on the FBI office in Cincinnati yesterday, from a Trump supporter, over the search of Mar a Lago.
She's also ignored the rise in anti-Semitic attacks. Death threats to school teachers. Conspiracies about COVID.
The faux 2020 election fraud, the massacres at our schools, and the rise in gun violence have been perpetrated mostly by right-wing extremists.
Instead of trying to help the country and denounce this behavior, wingnuts like Ingraham aid and abet the perpetrators of violence against her own country for TV ratings.
