Like most politicians, 88-year-old Sen. Chuck Grassley plays this game where he pretends to be doing one thing while doing the complete opposite. And he expects his act to continue to work for him as it has for decades because the good people of Iowa trust this creep. Or they're just not paying attention.

Republican Senator Chuck Grassley (IA) tweeted on Sunday during the debate over a component in the Inflation Reduction Act that would put a cap on the cost of insulin to $35.
In the United States, insulin costs over $98 per unit, whereas the rest of the world it costs less than $10. The medication keeps many people alive.
But when Grassley took to Twitter he said that he voted to support insulin and that it was Democrats who eliminated it from the bill.
A video of the vote on C-SPAN, shows that Grassley voted no.
And note, that $98 figure cited above is from the RAND corporation in 2018. It's the absolute lowest amount for generics. Use the newer human analog insulin and the cost is well over $300. A study from 2018 showed that insulin costs had risen over 300% since 2008.
Grassley's opponent noticed the blatant hypocrisy, and called him out for it, noting that Grassley has gotten $1.4m in donations from Big Pharma. “Sen. Grassley can talk all he wants about lowering drug prices, but what he actually does in Washington — from writing the bill to ban Medicare from negotiating for lower prices to now voting against capping the cost of insulin at $35 a month — shows that what he actually cares about is protecting the profits of his drug industry donors,” Franken campaign manager Julie Stauch said in a statement.
Twitter noticed too.
And the other one from Iowa plays this game too. Her own brother and sister were juvenile diabetics. Despicable.
In fact, there's a whole bunch of Republicans who want lower insulin prices - but they will turn around and vote against it.
