On Fox News Sunday, Rep. Liz Cheney told Fox News host Bret Baier that it's not just the January 6 Select Committee that is exposing Trump as unfit for office, it's Murdoch-owned entities like the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal as well.
Fox News guest host Bret Baier asked Liz Cheney to defend every single Republican talking point over their unfounded complaints that the January 6 Select Committee is unfair.
During her responses, Cheney made clear to the Fox News host that even his employers have been swayed by the evidence uncovered by the Committee hearings.
Baier discussed her upcoming election in Wyoming which the polls shows she's losing to a Trump-backed candidate.
"Look my focus, Bret, is absolutely on doing what is right, and that is what's guided me ever since last election, and in the lead up to the objections in the House and the work that I did to help to make sure that my colleagues understood that we could not overturn an election in the house on January 6," Cheney said. "It's guided me at every moment since then and it's guided my work on this committee."
"It’s not just me that is saying that Donald Trump is unfit for office," she continued. "It’s other entities owned by Rupert Murdoch. It’s the New York Post, in their editorial on Friday. It’s the Wall Street Journal said the same thing after our hearing on Thursday night. So I’m going to continue to be guided by making sure I do my duty, and making sure that the American people understand the truth."
Using Trump sycophants and those Republican lawmakers that are intertwined with the insurrection are not credible detractors from the committee hearings.
After Thursday hearing, Rupert's Wall Street Journal published this: The President Who Stood Still on Jan. 6
Still, the brute facts remain: Mr. Trump took an oath to defend the Constitution, and he had a duty as Commander in Chief to protect the Capitol from a mob attacking it in his name. He refused. He didn’t call the military to send help. He didn’t call Mr. Pence to check on the safety of his loyal VP. Instead he fed the mob’s anger and let the riot play out.
In Friday's New York Post: Trump’s silence on Jan. 6 is damning
It’s up to the Justice Department to decide if this is a crime. But as a matter of principle, as a matter of character, Trump has proven himself unworthy to be this country’s chief executive again.
This is also proves that the January 6 Select Committee hearings have been truly effective.
