Rachel Campos-Duffy and The Federalist's John Daniel Davidson accuse climate activists of wanting to force everyone to eat bugs during yet another fearmongering and conspiracy theory riddled segment on Fox "news." As Politico reported this week, the far right, which includes the likes of the Polish government, Marine Le Pen and Donald Trump, has piggybacked onto the Dutch farmers protest, so of course Fox has decided to get in on the act as well.
Farmers are upset about new emissions standards for the agricultural sector, which Duffy and Davidson started the segment out discussing, along with fearmongering that all these evil NGO's want to take over the food supply (which sounded a whole lot like Duffy's Q-Anon-level, conspiracy filled nonsense she was spouting about Bill Gates just last week):
CAMPOS-DUFFY: So we saw this in the Netherlands, we're seeing it in Canada. You say it's coming here next. Explain what's happening and why you think America is in danger of these kings of very dangerous climate policies?
DAVIDSON: Yeah, the Netherlands is just further down the road than America is on right now with regard to climate policies. These farmers are protesting because the government is basically telling them they have to liquidate their farms in order to meet these new rigorous emission standards for things like nitrogen and ammonia. Those are things that livestock produce.
And so these Dutch farmers are looking at having to slaughtering their entire livestock and liquidate their farms, just to comply with these new emission standards that the Dutch government is passing as part of this UN sustainability development goals, and their agenda 2030, which is the very climate agenda that left-wing, kind of environmental ideologues in Washington DC are following.
So we're focused on energy right now, you know, solar around wind, but eventually we'll get around to what Europe is focused on now, which is the food supply and food production, and that's what's behind all this.
CAMPOS-DUFFY: Yeah, it's really strange that they would actually, I guess that they have this UN plan and they have all these, you know, green goals, but this is a time where the food supply is under a lot of stress because of the war in Ukraine and other issues. Why would they do it right now?
DAVIDSON: I think they see an opportunity now for this like transition that they hope to accomplish. And by the way, you know, it's important for to us understand, the transition is not just toward, you know, lower emissions or, you know, different set-up in terms of crops.
They want to get rid of private farming and private agriculture completely. They want to centralize the control of food production and food distribution to have it funneled through super national governmental bodies, NGOs and major food corporations. That's the ultimate goal here.
Which was followed by Duffy pushing her new conspiracy theory about the bugs, which, of course, her guest was happy to go along with.
CAMPOS-DUFFY: Yeah, to to get rid of the independent farmer and have total top-down control. You think you're a conspiracy theorist if you start to notice things. I'm noticing a lot of articles about eating bugs, and actually in the UK they're already testing schoolchildren, eating lunches that are made of bugs. There is something about this transition that you're talking about.
DAVIDSON: Well you know the great thing about bugs is they don't produce nitrogen or ammonia, right? No... absolutely this is kind of thing I'm talking about. Once they gain control of food supply and the food distribution, instead of food distribution centers run by the NGOs and the government, they can dictate to you what you can eat.
In this case, apparently in the UK... bugs. But that's the kind of thing we need to start thinking about. You know, the debates that we have around solar and wind and these climate bills that Congress is trying to get through, that's just the beginning.
Europe, when you want to look at the future, look at Europe, that's where we're going with these policies, and apparently eating bugs is in our future.
CAMPOS-DUFFY: Yeah, well I like steak, so we better pay attention to this issue. John Daniel Davidson, I appreciate you joining us.
