Today's hearing featured testimony from the police officers attacked by insurrectionists on January 6th.
Testimony from Officers Harry Dunn, Aquilino Gonell, Michael Fanone, and Daniel Hodges, who recounted their personal experiences defending the Capitol was at times furious and at other times emotional. There is no way to watch this hearing and believe Republicans when they say they were as peaceful as "tourists." At the very beginning there is a video showing just how violent it was.
If you missed it and want to watch the entire hearing, you can watch the video at the very end of this post.
Here is the video compilation played at the beginning of the hearing. Everyone should watch this:
Here is Aquilino Gonell, lamenting the fact that his fellow citizens attacked him with American flags.
Here is Officer Hodges, explaining why he calls the insurrectionists terrorists.
Officer Fanone's fury:
Fanone pounds the table as he says, "the indifference shown to my colleagues is disgraceful!"
"Nothing has prepared me to address those elected members of our government who continue to deny the events of that day and in doing so betray their oath of office," he adds pic.twitter.com/LrJOxT0ueh— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) July 27, 2021
The Republicans on the committee, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, stayed true to the mission. Here's part of Rep. Liz Cheney's opening statement:
"If those responsible are not held accountable, and if Congress does not act responsibly, this will remain a cancer on our constitutional republic, undermining the peaceful transfer of power at the heart of our democracy system." -- Liz Cheney pic.twitter.com/D8LBl64yn3

Rep. Adam Kinzinger was visibly moved by the officers' testimony.
