When Conor Oberst put out his first record way back in the early aughts he was hailed as a ‘new Dylan’ and the album received praise far and wide. I picked up a copy on a day off in Boulder, Colorado, listened to a few tracks and subsequently returned to the record store to get a refund. For whatever reason, I didn’t get it. I heard this song a while back and I definitely got it. Maybe I should go back and revisit the catalog.
