Seventy years before Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty, there was The Man Who Could Work Miracles, one of only two movies scripted by H.G. Wells. Somewhere between fantasy, science fiction and The Twilight Zone, The Man Who Could Work Miracles is the story of three gods despairing over the fate of human "animals" on the earth, who contrive to conduct an experiment to see what would happen if one, lowly human were given the (nearly) unlimited power to work miracles.
