New polling shows the full-court press by most of Fox News to smear Mueller's special counsel and Congressional inquires into Russia colluding with Trump officials has not moved the dial.
In Fox News' new polling, this question was asked:
Do you think the Trump campaign coordinated with the Russian government during the 2016 presidential election, or not?
21-23 Jan 18 Yes 42% No 43 Don't Know 15
For reference: Do you think the special counsel will find that the Trump campaign coordinated with the Russian government during the election?
21-23 May 17 yes 43% No 45% Don't Know 12
It's very surprising to see this Fox News poll so evenly split when it comes to Trump and the Russians with the push to discredit all investigations, but with indictments and guilty pleas and secret meetings with Russian operatives, they have failed so far.
On Fox News' Outnumbered, the panel asked if Trump should submit to an interview with Robert Mueller. They played a clip of Judge Napolitano strongly telling Trump not to do it.
Sandra Smith said the optics of Trump saying he wants to testify looked good, but as Ronn Blitzer reports, his confident words to the media are almost word for word to his promise to release his taxes.
Marie Harf reminded the couch that Trump's "strength is not choosing his words carefully, paying attention to details."
Sandra Smith seemed a little surprised saying, "When people were asked, Fox News polling did the President coordinate with the Russians? It's split 42% say yes, he did, 43%, slightly more say no he did not."
The Fox News poll did blame Democrats more for the government shutdown so their propaganda worked on that issue.
