The obstruction of justice case against Donald Trump may have just gotten bit stronger after today's interview of Andrew McCabe. The FBI Deputy Director was grilled by the House Intelligence Committee regarding a wide range of topics, covering Jim Comey, the Russia investigation, the Hillary Clinton email investigation, just to name a few.
CNN is reporting that McCabe told investigators that Comey told him about numerous conversations he had with Donald Trump, including mentions of a "loyalty pledge" of some sort. These independent confirmations strengthen Comey's statements and memorialized reports of his recollection of interactions with Trump.
Another major focus of the Republicans is the Steele Dossier compiled by a British agent outlining a litany of alleged offenses committed by Trump. The panels also grilled McCable regarding the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's email server situation. My god, her emails. Forever ranting about her emails.
Apparently, McCabe didn't give them the answers they wanted, because CNN reports that two Republicans "emerged from the Thursday hearing saying McCabe's testimony did not change their belief that Clinton got favorable treatment by the FBI when it decided not to pursue criminal charges last year over the handling of her private email server."
No matter how hard they try to divert the questioning, the big issue is Comey. What happened, who knew what and when did they know it. During Comey's testimony before the Senate in June, he alluded to telling "FBI leadership team" about his various interactions with Trump, but never named McCabe directly.
McCabe outed himself today and that spells trouble for Trump.
