Above, a scene from Disney's Andi Mack, which deals with a tween boy being attracted to a male friend. It's still TV-G because it is. Watch.
But wait, well-upholstered TruNews entertainment reviewer Zach Drew gives Disney’s show a thumbs-down, You’re Going To Hell:
…which brings us to the American Family Association’s janitorial closet One Million Moms‘ Monica Cole who don’t like this show one bit:
In a first for the Disney Channel, the show “Andi Mack” will spend an hour focusing on one of the main characters coming out as gay. Young teen Cyrus Goodman is a key member in the program’s cast. During the season two premiere, he’ll make Disney Channel history as he grapples with his feelings for another boy. And in subsequent episodes, he’ll work these feelings out along with having a new girlfriend.
And of course 1 Million Monicas is asking for a boycott of the show, because it is better to have tortured kids shoved into the closet than it is to show a kid working it out, who know, maybe happily ever after. Fire up the fax machine, Monica!
Monica Cole is the person who applauds at the end of Old Yeller, and wonders why Disney stopped making wholesome family entertainment that scarred her generation of Boomers. “Bambi’s Mom,” Cole didn’t say, “Now there’s a role model!”
