Fox and Friends brought on the only firearms manufacturing Congressman on air to be their expert to discuss the Democrats push to create new gun control measure after the massacre in Las Vegas.
After Brian Kilmeade played a clip of Sen. Feinstein pushing for some change after the Las Vegas massacre, Brian then said that a Republican Congressman is drafting legislation to ban the "bump stock" used to turn a semi into a full automatic weapon.
He then introduced Rep. Steve Russell (R-OK), an Army veteran and owner of a firearms manufacturing business to denounce their efforts efforts.
Kilmeade asked, "Are you OK with this movement on these devices to ban them, make them illegal?"
Rep. Russell said, "We can talk about going after implements and tools, but really we are approaching it all wrong."
See, l need to sell these things to make cash so no, it's all wrong.
Russell then went into a lengthy speech about 9/11, terrorists and how they have access to our freedoms.
He then said we are not identifying these mass murderers well enough.
Russell said, "To get to a solution, you can't just go after the tools."
But you can start there, right? And then you can form your task force to have real meaningful and bipartisan conversations on what to do next, right Rep. Russell?
I guess not because it's all Norway's and Anders Breivik's fault, who was himself a right wing zealot.
Kilmeade got tired of his filibustering so he asked him a direct questions surrounding the mass murders of the last seven years.
Brian said, "It's illegal to have an automatic weapon so they're focusing on that. What would you focus on right now -- a bipartisan select committee together with a time line and a budget to analyze?"
Russell is proposing to form a task force since apparently Senator Feinstein isn't smart enough to know the gun laws or the real issues.
He said, "One of the ideas that I'm promoting is to form a task force with experts where we can work on the issue with people that are actually qualified, that know the laws, that know the issues. I have combat experience. I'm a firearms manufacturer. I know 18th U.S. Code all of these things. And we have others that we can quietly work together rather than be polarized, go to our corners and shout at each other."
"And look, as far as devices that mechanically manipulate to go to full auto and some of that. We have to have all of those discussions. But going after the implements is not the solution. We have been successful in combating terror. We can be successful against combating mass murder. And to that point, the 1934 Firearms Control Act '68 and '86 revisions, did not ban full auto firearms but they did regulate them to protect the public from mass killings. Those laws have been wildly successful with virtually no crimes committed with those firearms."
While Rep. Russell was talking, Fox News posted a graphic of what he is proposing in Congress: Federal Firearms Licensee Protection Act of 2017.
Rep. Russell's answer to gun control is to create stiff penalties for stealing somebody's weapon!
