The mom of Sgt. La David T. Johnson, one of the fallen U.S. soldiers in Niger, confirmed Rep. Wilson's account of Trump's call to his wife and said, "President Trump did disrespect my son and my daughter and also me and my husband."
Rep. Wilson told the press that Trump's Tuesday call to Johnson's widow, who is seven months pregnant with their third child, made her cry.
Rep. Wilson told MSNBC's Morning Joe crew, "She was crying the whole time and when she hung up the phone, she looked at me and said, 'He didn't even remember his name. That's the hurting part.' "
"He was almost like joking. He said, well, I guess you knew -- something to the fact that 'He knew what he was getting into when he signed up. But I guess it hurts anyway.'
He guessed it hurt?
Trump responded to Rep. Wilson's allegations with a tweet.
"Fox and Friends" went to the mat with a flurry of despicable lies defending Trump's call.
Rep. Wilson responded to Trumps' tweet with one of her own.
The Washington Post then contacted Sgt. La David T. Johnson's mother, Cowanda Jones-Johnson through Facebook Messaging and she said she was riding in the car with them both at the time of his call.
She said, "President Trump did disrespect my son and my daughter and also me and my husband."
And when asked to verify Rep. Wilson account said, "Yes."
Trump took a valid question from the press about his non-response to the death of four U.S. servicemen in Niger and turned it into a political monstrosity of ignorance and misery for all those affected the most by these wars.
