Without any proof, the Chairman of the House Intel Committee Rep. Devin Nunes and a Trump loyalist said it was the Democrats that helped the Russians successfully interfere in the 2016 election rather than Donald Trump and his campaign.
Rep. Nunes, who disgraced himself numerous times by working as Trump's flunkie as soon as the House Intelligence Committee began investigating Russian collusion with the Trump administration, with no proof - smeared Democrats because they paid for opposition research against their rivals like every campaign does.
Rep. Nunes joined Fox News' Neil Cavuto and he was armed with nothing more than allegations and suppositions to help try and deflect Trump's Russian problems away from the administration and frame the Democrats and Trump's rivals.
Remember, Republicans spent four solid years investigating Benghazi, including Rep. Gowdy's Select Committee on Benghazi that lasted over two years and spent $7.8 million.
Rep. Nunes told Cavuto that the Russians were successful in trying to sabotage the 2016 election because of the Democrats. Huh?
Rep. Nunes said, "What's allowed them to be successful in this sabotage of an election is they're trying to change public opinion and what's happened here with all of this commotion and all the nonsense that was put out, don't you think it would have been important for the Congress to know back in January when we were first briefed on this Trump dossier, that it was paid for by the opposition party?"
Actually, what's important about the dossier are the confirmed facts contained within it.
Nunes continued, "So the people that made the Russians successful are the Democrats. The people who have continued this nonsense over and over again, looking for Russians behind every tree, -- we continue to chase ghosts around this place."
What Rep. Nunes forgot to mention was that it was Republican operatives that paid for the Fusion GPS dossier initially. After Trump won the nomination, then they begged off and the Dems took it on.
What Rep. Nunes also forgot to mention was that the Steele dossier was never used by the media during the election because they couldn't verify some of its allegations.
Rep. Nunes also forgot to mention Donald Trump Jr's meeting with Russian spies or Gen. Flynn's outright lies, but whatevs.
Rep. Devin Nunes is blowing smoke in Democrats' direction to cover up the obvious wrongdoing on the part of Republicans. As always, they project. They always project. Assume that the accusations Nunes makes toward Democrats are actually something Republicans have done.
