After CNN's Chris Cuomo asked Rep. Maxine Waters if she wanted to make "an attempt on the president's life," the Congresswoman laughed it off. "That's absolutely ridiculous!"

I think Cuomo does a very good job dealing with Trump apologists, but after interviewing Rep. Waters at length on the dispute Trump has with Gold Star widow Myeshia Johnson and his condolence call and and Gen. Kelly's bogus claims against Rep. Frederica Wilson, he brought up Rep. Waters remarks at an LGBT event earlier this month.

After playing the same video Sean Hannity did the night before, Cuomo asked, "Those words have been interpreted as as an attempt on the president's life, how did you intend them?

His question to Rep. Waters seemed to come right from the mouth of Kellyanne Conway. She couldn't have done better herself.

On October 12th, Rep. Waters told Chris Hayes on MSNBC that "we should be moving on impeachment", a thought she expresses continually.

On October 13th, at the LGBT event in question, Rep. Waters alluded to the great Muhammad Ali and told the the audience that with the inspiration she received, "I will go and take Trump out tonight."

As I wrote earlier, the congresswoman was being facetious about physical contact and instead meaning impeachment. It was obviously a joke: She laughed after delivering the words and the audience howled in response.

After Cuomo asked Rep. Waters if she wanted to assassinate Trump, she replied, "That's absolutely ridiculous. Nobody believes that."

She continued, "A 79-year-old grandmother who is a Congresswoman and who has been in Congress and politics all these years talking about doing any harm. The only harm I might be doing to the President is I want him impeached."

Since conservative defenders of Trumpism look for any and all tidbits to distract from the inadequacies of Trump, Rep. Waters was targeted, and Chris Cuomo legitimized it. Good going, Chris.
