Yes, Hillary Clinton is launching a book tour to discuss "what happened" in 2016. She made an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning to talk about the book, and...what happened.
During the interview, she discussed the dynamic of Trump and his supporters. “[Trump] was quite successful in referencing a nostalgia that would give hope, comfort and settle grievances for millions of [white] people who were upset about gains that were made by others.”
TL;DR: Trump is backlash for 8 years of an African-American president.
One of the more memorable moments was when she discussed her attendance at Trump's inaugural and what she thought of the speech, which she called "a cry from the white nationalist gut."
She continued, "What an opportunity to say, ‘Ok, I’m proud of my supporters, but I’m the president of all Americans.’ That’s not what we heard at all.”
Of course, it might be a good time to remind her that he doesn't think of himself as the president of all Americans. He is the president for the KKK and the Nazis, for the haters and those nostalgic and sad for the days when whites could oppress everyone else at will.
Oh, and possibly Vladimir Putin. Because he is even more reluctant to denounce Putin than he is the KKK and the Nazis. So there's that.
