Fox News' Brian Kilmeade took a few minutes to respond to Jimmy Kimmel after the talk show singled him out for ridicule in a Wednesday evening rant against the new Graham-Cassidy healthcare bill.
Previously, Kilmeade had mocked Kimmel's involvement in the healthcare debate because he's part of the "Hollywood elite," so last night Jimmy Kimmel responded in kind and called Kilmeade a "phony little creep" after begging the late night talk show host to write a positive blurb in Brian's book.
On this morning's Fox and Friends, Kilmeade did a stand-alone interview with the Heritage Foundation's Micheal Needham on the new Trumpcare bill, which Mitch McConnell is trying to ram through before the September 30th deadline.
Needham bashed Kimmel, offered to give the talk show host a lesson on the bill since he obviously doesn't understand it and said just because conservatives want to do health care differently, it doesn't mean they aren't compassionate to the needs of the people.
The bill leaves many things up to individual states, which means there are no clear answers on how each state will treat people with preexisting conditions and the like.
Even this Politico article shows how destructive it is, especially to Medicaid and preexisting conditions and costs to the elderly.
Needham also bashed all the medical associates that have rebuked this new healthcare plan for loving Obamacare too much.
After it ended Kilmeade responded to Kimmel by saying he's objectively (That was not a joke) looking at the Graham-Cassidy healthcare bill by talking to analysts on both sides.
He said, "What we are doing on our show talking to the people in the fray and analysts on both sides."
Where was somebody from CAP bringing an alternate theory to the bill? Or any true progressive healthcare expert? Graham, Cassidy, and Needham don't qualify.
"Last night Jimmy Kimmel personally attacked me."
That's because you singled him out, Brian.
He watched the video and said, " Hope your son gets better. I hope your son gets all the care he needs."
Kilmeade continued, "I'm glad you are interested. You are doing a great job bringing the dialogue out, but you should actually do what we are doing. Talk to the people that wrote it."
Sure, they would never lie or exaggerate their own legislation.
How does he know Kimmel isn't talking to the experts on healthcare? His rants against Graham-Cassidy seem very informed. Oh, right. Kimmel is just some dumb talk show host and only understands celebrities peccadillos.
And he discussed asking Kimmel to wrote a blurb in his book.
Kilmeade said he thought Kimmel's show was excellent even when his ratings weren't great. Backhanded jackass "compliment" there, Brian.
"You were kind enough to give an interview to me. I thought the pieces went great. I didn't kiss your butt. I thought you did a good job."
As for the blurb, " I tried to get you in this book in 2003 - I got guys like the Rock to be in it. President Bush to be in it. Robin Williams to be in it. I wanted you to be in it. It didn't work out. I didn't think that was negative - best of luck with your son."
SNL's depiction of Brian Kilmeade is startlingly accurate. He's an idiot.
