Bill O'Reilly is leaving a trail of inanity in his wake, as conservative commentators flail about trying to figure out a way to distance themselves from his general creepiness while not condemning the entitled patriarchal attitude that led to his downfall.

Conservative commentator Michael Medved--without benefit of having spent time at Fox News headquarters, or experiencing off-camera Bill O'Reilly, or being a woman trying to survive in the squicky He-Man Woman-Haters club that was Fox News--is really, really concerned that we might be piling on poor ol' Poppa Bear.

His reasoning for concern? Bill O'Reilly gets good ratings.

Who cares if he created a hostile environment for multiple female employees?

Who cares if he screamed and bullied them?

Who cares if he would masturbate while speaking to them on the phone, detailing his sexual fantasies?

Who cares if more than a dozen women came forward despite a larger corporate culture of sexual humiliation and abuse by Roger Ailes, among others?

How does that matter when three or four million people tune into him every day? I mean, priorities, people.

Frankly, with his $25 million golden parachute, I think BillO is probably surviving quite well. He doesn't need Michael Medved's earnest concern trolling for his delicate feelings.

Of course, being a conservative means NEVER having to be concerned about the well-being of the women subjected to the abuse and harassment.
