The Hunger Games trilogy was intended to be a dystopian cautionary tale.
Unfortunately, in Russia, it has become a primer:
A group of people from around the globe has agreed to take part in a real-life “Hunger Games” — competing on a controversial new game show in Russia where fighting, rape and even murder is allowed.
The deadly contest, dubbed “Game2:Winter,” will be held on a remote Siberian Island in the Ob River and broadcast worldwide on the internet starting in July, according to the Siberian Times.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but WTAF? Who thought this was a good idea?
The contest is to survive--by whatever means necessary--to April 2018. All contestants have reportedly signed a waiver on liability, including death. Isn't that an entertaining notion?
This is probably the best argument I've heard against the notion of evolution. I can't imagine how anyone can find this kind of barbarism something they'd want to watch. But don't forget, Putin's Puppet is still a television producer. Between him and Bannon, I can imagine them pitching this for American tv soon.
I think Scandinavian "slow television" is sounding better and better.
