I don't have to tell Crooks and Liars readers about the incest between the media in the persons of Mika and Joe of MSNBC, and Donald Trump.
And I don't have to tell you about how deep NBC is with Trump in terms of continuing an "executive producer" credit on The Apprentice show with the next President of the United States.
And I don't have to tell you that when candidate Trump called Mexicans rapists, NBC announced that Trump "didn’t reflect the company’s “core values,” which was why NBC publicly terminated its business relationship with him."
"[And now] the parent company for NBC News, one of the largest news organizations in America, is going to maintain its business relationship with the president of the United States."
I guess NBC doesn't care about Mexicans anymore. Or women. Or gays. Or environmental concerns. Or citizens who want America to be independent from the Russian Motherland.
I'm sure Jeff Zucker has weighed this carefully, and decided that the real needs of the citizens of the United States are fungible compared to access to Trump and his ratings. He's had that balanced out since Trump announced, after all.
And so it's just fine that the Chief of Staff of that President comes on Morning Joe and mentions off-hand that "I know you talk with him frequently" amid rumors that Joe Scarborough is actually advising the transition.
And Joe's comeback is a joke about a "whiteboard" on which that same chief of staff can cross off names of people (like John Bolton, and yes, all agreed there) who should be eliminated from consideration in a Trump cabinet.
Because if you're Joe Scarborough, why waste time travelling to Trump Tower to advise the incoming administration when you can do it from your own set? No conflict of interest there.
