Sen. Harry Reid told CNN's Manu Raju that he didn't think FBI Director James Comey "may have" swayed the election presidential election for Trump, but said, "I didn't say 'may have,' I think he did."

Sen. Reid was being interviewed by Raju and was asked a whole host of questions including how he felt about James Comey's disastrous letter to Congress ten days before the general election.

Raju asked, "You said that Comey may have swayed this election to --"

Sen. Reid replied, "I didn't say 'may have,' I think he did."

Raju, "You think he did."

538's Nate Silver tweeted this out about the impact of the Comey letter on Sunday.

The CNN host backed up and asked Senator Reid how much blame should go to the Democrats for the loss and Reid replied, The message must not have been too bad. She's [Hillary] going to wind up getting 3 million more votes than Trump, so it couldn't have been too bad."

Raju again asked what his responsibility for the loss was.

Sen. Reid replied, "Of course, anything, but what I'm saying is that she got 3 million votes more than he, or will have by the time the votes are all counted, and that Comey was heavily involved as a partisan and that is untoward someone from the FBI would do that."

Raju asked, "What specifically should your party have done differently to keep the senate, to win back the white house?"

Reid replied, "I think we would have won the majority in the Senate and we would have won the presidency, but for Comey."

Raju refused to dig into Reid's words and continued to push his own narrative and asked, "But there's nothing at all, your party?"

Reid got perturbed and said, "But you saying that, Manu. Of course we could have done better. But the point is, everyone can do better, you know? In a fistfight, you lose it, could you do better? Of course you could."

Sen. Reid was asked to comment on his statement after the election, in which he called Trump a sexual predator and he did not back away from it.

Reid hilariously said, "What's wrong with any one of those statements?"

After the Comey letter, late undecided voters went with Trump and in a general election, that's a catastrophe.
