Just before the deadline, the Army Corp of Engineers comes through for the Standing Rock community
December 4, 2016

Wow! This is an unexpected ray of good news in the bleak coverage of post-election America.

The Daily Beast:

The Army Corps of Engineers has reportedly told the Oceti tribe that it will halt work on the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline in order to conduct an environmental impact study, according to MSNBC

Rep. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) was not happy with this news:

'Today's unfortunate decision sends a very chilling signal to others who want to build infrastructure in this country. Roads, bridges, transmission lines, pipelines, wind farms and water lines will be very difficult, if not impossible, to build when criminal behavior is rewarded this way'

I'm sure he'll be fine if they reroute the pipeline closer to his home, right? He wouldn't want to "chill" infrastructure investment after all.
