During a campaign rally in Florida, Trump made his usual pitch to the African American community and said, "One thing they are seeing in a couple of states like Florida, African-Americans aren't turning out and when they do a lot of them are voting for Trump - We'll do great with the African-Americans."
As we know, "great" is a relative term when discussing Donald Trump.
His theory is explained away by MSNBC's Peter Alexander, who observed, "Worth noting that in a room of 3-5000 people...we probably saw five to ten African Americans in this room."
Let's do the math, shall we?
If we take 10 African Americans out of a rally of 5000 Trump supporters and divide, we get a percentage of .002
That seems to be the type of overall polling numbers Trump has shown with the black community.
I wish the press pool camera was able to pan the audience when Trump said, "I love those signs. Blacks for Trump. Hold that sign up. I'm telling you, Blacks for Trump.
I wonder if an old white man was holding it up?
And as part of Trump's outreach to the black community, Trump also dissed Jay-Z and Beyonce by saying, "So she got Jay-Z and Beyonce, and the language they used was so bad. [ booing ] The language. The language is so bad."
(Trump still can't string together a coherent sentence.)
He continued, And as they were -- singing? Singing, right? singing. Talking? Was it talking or singing, I don't know?"
Making fun of rap and hip hop music like old white men and racists do is not the usual way to win the hearts and minds of young African Americans.
I'm just saying.
And can you image the language, Giuliani, Christie and Bannon use when the cameras aren't on them?
