FBN's Stuart Varney is trying to outgun Eric Bolling as the resident idiot in chief on Fox News these days and earlier today he hosted a segment entitled, "Legal? Islamist Group in U.S. Reportedly Arming for Confrontation with Trump Admin

Where did Varney get his intel from, you ask?

An anti-Muslim hate group called The Clarion Project. (More from ThinkProgress on them here)

Some confidential sources buried within these "secret" Islamist groups are informing them that they are arming themselves in preparation for jihad against Trump.

How do they know? They got the low down from Martin Mawyer of the Christian Action Network.

Fox News are taking this report as sacrosanct.

How much longer will it be before Trump starts tweeting warnings out about the coming jihad?

Reuters wrote about the Holy Islamberg group that is cited in the Fox News segment back in 2015, which resides in a Catskills community.

Everything was peaceful and tranquil there until far right groups began describing them as breeding grounds for terrorists. This led to a Tennessee man being arrested for plotting to attack them.

Guess who led an online smear campaign against them? The Christian Action Network, of course.

One blog on the Christian Action Network, for example, described the settlement as "America's first Islamic government," and warned that children are being raised to fight a holy war, that girls are denied an education and that rule breakers "are often tied to trees and whipped for disobeying."

Robert Doggart, a one-time congressional candidate from Tennessee, embraced that sort of overheated rhetoric as he plotted his attack on the Muslim enclave.

In wire-tapped phone calls and in meetings with Federal Bureau of Investigation informants, Doggart put out the call for a militia to attack Islamberg, saying he intended to destroy its mosque and gun down residents who tried to stop him.

This is sick stuff.

Judge Napolitano weighed in on Varney's hot topic and explains that if these groups are legally buying and registering guns, then there is nothing that can be done.

But no, Varney wants the government to question them about "the arms they are bearing, " even as the judge explains to this moron that a judge has to be shown probable cause to issue a search warrant.

Napolitano said, "The constitution requires that they show probable cause, which means some evidence of criminal activity, not suspicion, not worry, but crimes."

Varney replied, "You can't just check up on the firearms permits?"

The judge mocked him and said, "No, no. In Great Britain they can do that, but not here."

Can you imagine if the government went knocking on the doors of every right wing militia group in America and wanted to see their firearms papers?

How do you suppose Fox News would react then?
