38 years ago the Jam released their 3rd album All Mod Cons. Though I am a huge fan of their first two albums, this one is where the band really came into their own. They no longer were just 60's mod loving group acclimated into the then current punk rock climate, it is here where they started to be one of the most important rock-n-roll bands in the word.

"Down In The Tube Station At Midnight" was released as the first single from the record a couple weeks before the album came out. The BBC banned it as the time feeling the lyrical content about a guy on his way home from work being attacked by a drunken gang of right wingers was a little too "disturbing" for radio airplay. It became the band's second top 20 single in the UK.
