Is Dystopia now an actual non-fictional place?

The subject matter of Gary Numan and the Tubeway Army's Replicas album portrayed a planet riddled by paranoia, fear, hate and Dystopian "order."

The album was released on this day, November 14th in 1979. It was meant to be works of fiction. Nowadays though who can really be sure they weren't foreseeing where the world may be quickly headed.
