Yeah, Michelle Obama's White House Kitchen Garden isn't going anywhere.
Rachel Maddow closed out her show last night celebrating Mrs. Obama's "nails" in how she arranged to make the garden at the White House a permanent fixture. Mrs. Obama raised private funds to pay for the garden's upkeep, and arranged this year for the installation of a cemented entry arch, as well as permanent walkways through the vegetable and flower beds. The flowers make possible a beehive which delivers White House Honey, honey!
The irony here (that Maddow neglects to mention) is that since the food grown in this garden is, in part, used for White House cooking, and private funds pay for the garden's upkeep, Michelle Obama has essentially privatized the vegetable courses at State Dinners and family meals for all future presidents.
You'd think the Republican Party would applaud that.
Nevermind.
