To all appearances it looks like Kellyanne Conway is more a spokesperson rather than Trump's campaign manager, if the last month of his campaign is any indication of who is the top advisor.
Digby caught this portion of Conway's Master Class in lying.
Trump has invited Obama's Kenyan half brother Malik who is a Trump supporter to the debate.
Kellyanne Conway was on MSNBC this morning and lied so smoothly about all this that it actually scared me:
MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle: Help me understand why bringing President Obama's half brother tonight, how does that help voters know who they want to elect as the next president of the United States?
Conway: That's all right. he wanted to come and we're happy to give him a ticket and accommodate him.
Ruhle: You guys are friends with him?
Conway: I'm not personally friends with him, I've never met him.
Ruhle: Donald Trump is friends with him?
Conway: But, you know, we're very inclusive.
Ruhle: To me, inviting president Obama's brother, are you not ringing some conspiracy theories? Are you not winking at the birther issue again?
Conway: What? No ...
That's not spinning. It's pathology.
I'd agree. After making a mockery out of presidential politics by holding a crazed press conference before the second debate, now they invite a huge fanboy of Khadafy for the final one.
Later in the interview, Conway attacked HRC for daring to invite Meg Whitman, a female success story and stunned Ruhle, who followed that up and asked, "Inviting president Obama's brother, are you not ringing some conspiracy theories? Are you not winking at the birther issue again?"
Conway was flabbergasted and said "What? No."
Sure Trump did.
There is no reason to bring President Obama's Kenyan half brother to a presidential debate except to throw more gas on the birther flames without mentioning having to mention Obama's birth certificate.
Stephanie Ruhle was not letting Conway steamroll her all that much and asked, "Tell me in all honesty, look me in the eye and tell me why would President Obama's estranged half brother be invited by the Trump family, with all of the extraordinary americans they know, the great veterans of of this country, why that guy?"
Conway had no real answer except to attack the media for ignoring all their other awesome invitees.
Sure, just like Juanita Broaddrick and Kathleen Willey.
