Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson appears to be feeling the stress of running a campaign where he's unlikely to garner more than 3 or 4 percent of the vote, as you'll see in this video of his interview with a Guardian reporter.

When asked about Evan McMullin's surge in Utah, Johnson snapped, "It’s a bit of a stretch to be comparing my candidacy with his." He went on to complain that McMullin was splitting the Republican protest voters, even though he didn't begrudge his entry into the race.

He also complained that reporters were treating him like "a dummy" while getting his back up about questions concerning his sinking poll numbers.

“Why are you even interviewing me? I don’t get it. If I’m doing so poorly, is this to preside over a funeral here? It’s not a funeral! It’s a celebration," Johnson groused.

But it was when the reporter challenged his tax policy that things came unglued. After being asked why he was promoting policies that most major economists don't agree with, Johnson stepped back with his hands up and told him he didn't want to argue over it.

And then Johnson leaned in with teeth bared and blasted him. "Look, I came out for the legalization of marijuana," he snarled. "And I will tell you that I had people in my face for years and years and years talking about how stupid and how idiotic it was that we should allow marijuana to be legal."

The reporter then asked what that had to do with his tax politics.

"It's leadership," Johnson growled.

Maybe he should just stick to weed legalization and leave the tax policy to experts, hmmmm?

I think Bill Weld's call for Trump's defeat set him back on his haunches a bit. Or maybe it's just the pressure of a national campaign that's going nowhere. Whatever it was, he wasn't his usual derpy self.
