Donald Trump got angry at CNN reporter Dana Bash at the D.C. grand opening of his new hotel. Bash asked him about his motives for holding a campaign event at the grand opening of a hotel he owns, and he shot back, "For you to ask me that question is actually very insulting" and "I think that's a very rude question, to be honest with you."
The media is understandably suspicious, given that his "big announcement" regarding birtherism turned out to be an hour long infomercial for the Washington DC Trump Hotel's soft opening. The press pool cameras were turned off when it was revealed that Trump had played a bait and switch on the news media.
We know from new interview tapes of him in 2014 that his number one love is being a celebrity.
Bash asked, "The fact that people come to your events and that helps you with free advertising. Is that what this was about?"
Trump ranted on about how incredible his new hotel is to have finished early and under budget.
Bash continued, "For people who say you're taking time out of swing states to go do this, what do you say?"
Trump replied that he's been campaigning diligently (My word not his) and he's just supporting his children and then he got angry.
Trump said, "For you to ask me that question is actually very insulting, because Hillary Clinton does one stop and then goes home and sleeps yet you'll ask me that question. I think it's a very rude question, to be honest with you."
Trump has used many of his press conferences and rallies to promote his branded products which comes out to millions of free advertising dollars for his properties. Today's show was no different.
But the campaign may be seriously hurting the brand. The Trump company announced that their new line of hotels will not have the Trump name, and some shoppers are boycotting Ivanka Trump's clothing and the stores that carry it, to protest her father's misogyny.
