Julian Assange made a streaming video appearance at the Green Party "convention" today to address questions and answers participants may have had for him.

When asked if he was going to hack Trump's taxes, Assange assured them they were "working on it."

I have a problem with this. There are only a couple of ways to get the man's tax returns. One would be to hack into IRS systems, in which case a lot more havoc could be wreaked than just retrieval of the orange-faced sh*tgibbon's tax returns.

Or, a hack into Trump's accountant's systems, which could also end in disaster for that firm, who likely handles returns for many more people than just Trump.

I also think it's just wrong to illegally obtain information in order to interfere in our elections.

In 1972, a Republican candidate for President had his lackeys break into the Democratic National Headquarters in order to dig up intelligence on his opponent. He ended up resigning in disgrace after a summer of Congressional hearings which exposed just how deep and wide his paranoia was.

In 2016, electronic break-ins are either met by applause or shrugs. And once again, the break-ins have all aimed at Democrats, with a goal of advantaging Republicans.

Yet the press and the electorate shrug. This is how far we've fallen.
