Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson went on Fox News' The Five and freaked out co-host Eric Bolling because he defended the Black Lives Matter movement.
But while he was trying to rebut Johnson's correct beliefs that blacks in this country are treated much more harshly than whites, Bolling claimed blacks are actually being treated better by the police than whites!
And he used a bogus calculation of crime statistics to do so.
He said the numbers prove, "Blacks are being treated more fairly than whites, under those numbers"
Juan Williams responded, "What?"
It was a truly ludicrous moment on a network known for being ridiculous when it comes to minorities.
Bolling started out by questioning Johnson's BLM support, "You said something the other day that kind of rocked my brain the other night. You praised Black Lives Matter. And you also pushed back rather aggressively on the phrase All Lives Matter."
Gary Johnson replied, "Not a pushback, but all lives do matter. But when it comes to whites, guess what? We’re not being shot at the rate of six times blacks are being shot at.”
Johnson then praised the OJ Simpson ESPN documentary for realistically portraying the black experience in Los Angeles before those gruesome murders happened.
Here's where Eric lies about the statistics.
Bolling jumped in and said, "Can I just clarify though? Blacks are being shot six times more often than whites.
Johnson agreed, "Yes"
Bolling continued, "But they're committing eight times the amount of crime than whites."
Johnson got frustrated and turned to Juan Williams and said, "Well, but that's a crime thing, Juan you want to chime in?"
Williams said, "I'm here everyday..."
Bolling continued, "By those numbers blacks are being treated more fairly than whites under those numbers."
This man is deranged.
Bolling actually quoted some non-attributed crime statistics and determined in his twisted mind that police are brutalizing whites way more than blacks?
Really, this must be some kind of illness that has been named yet.
How about "Bollingjackassitis"
The Washington Post used real statistics in their article that analyzes Bolling argument:
But as data scientists and policing experts often note, comparing how many or how often white people are killed by police to how many or how often black people are killed by the police is statistically dubious unless you first adjust for population.
--
As The Post noted in a new analysis published last week, that means black Americans are 2.5 times as likely as white Americans to be shot and killed by police officers.
Did you read that, Bolling?
Gary Johnson then discussed how the war on drug has, "unfairly, blacks are targeted - color is targeted as opposed to you being white."
And then the discussion transitioned into the incarceration rate in America.
Bolling's attacks on Black Lives Matter is, simply put, despicable.
