Well of COURSE the NRA got a timeslot of their very own at the Republican National Convention, and lobbyist Chris Cox wasted no time telling the stupid audience that Hillary Clinton was....

Just like they have been saying for years and years about Obama.
But the hypothetical situation that Chris Cox used in his speech actually made a terrific case for the gun reforms Hillary Clinton is proposing!
A young mother attacked by a three time felon in her own home. Cox tells the stupid crowd that Hillary will prevent that mother from owning a gun to defend herself...
...but the NRA has already made it possible for the three time felon to STILL be able to buy a gun! Background checks, hello!
The Nation, emphasis added:
This hypothetical violent predator, after having committed three crimes, could still easily purchase a gun today if he knows how to use Craigslist or find a local gun show. That’s because Republicans in Congress, backed by the NRA’s aggressive lobbying efforts, defeated a legislative package in 2013 that would have expanded universal background checks to online and person-to-person sales. Cox clumsily tried to avoid this point by not actually saying this “three-time loser” was armed, even though it would have made a better story. But it would have further underlined his accidental pro–gun control argument.
Moreover, public-health researchers have reached an inescapable conclusion: More guns means more women die. Women in the United States are 11 times more likely to die from being shot than women in other high-income countries.
The chance of anyone being murdered in a random home invasion like the one Cox depicts are one in several million. It’s vastly more likely this predator would have been the woman’s husband or boyfriend. From 2001 to 2012, 6,410 women were murdered by an intimate partner with a gun, which is more than all the combat deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.
By the way, today is the anniversary of the Aurora movie theater shooting. Our thoughts are with the victims' families.

You'd think most voters would get it by now, and the polls show that they do. Only dead-ender Republican ammosexuals think the NRA represents them. But the NRA represents gun manufacturers, who want guns sold everywhere under every circumstance.
Darn nice of the Republican Party to give them an infomercial on their convention stage.
