Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin has been floated as a possible vice presidential pick for Donald Trump in recent weeks and this Sunday on CNN's State of the Union, we got a chance to find out just how badly she might want the job.
Host Jake Tapper asked Fallin about Donald Trump's latest campaign video where he talks about the racial divisions that he's been stoking constantly ever since he became the leader of the birther movement, and where he had the gall to talk about those divisions getting worse and not better -- as though he's had nothing to do with that fact.
After initially dodging Tapper's question on whether Trump has campaigned as a "racial healer" or not, Fallin actually said this with a straight face and without choking:
FALLIN: I think he has tried to campaign as a racial healer. I think that has been part of his message. If you watch what he said this week when he talked about how devastating it was for Dallas and how we need to respect our law enforcement and how we need to pray for those who were killed and those who were injured.
You know, I think that is his intent. I trust him with his words and I think we all need to move towards being compassionate, loving, healing and yet also, respecting our law enforcement.
Good luck selling that snake oil to the communities he's been demonizing since he hit the campaign trail governor.
