As we enter Day 2 of spin following the disastrous twitter release of this clearly antisemitic attack ad from the Trump campaign, we are learning more from numerous sources.
Here is the ad, for those who didn't happen to catch it. The one on the left, with the star, caused a YUGE uproar online and in the media. It was update to reflect a circle, but the damage had already been done.
Trump's camp came out after a few hours claiming it was really just like if they had used a sheriff star and that we were being way too sensitive, delicate flowers that we are. Here is a sheriff's star:
Notice the difference. The points are rounded at the ends, not sharp like, say, a Magen David (Star of David). Not even close.
Lewandowski, former campaign manager/bully/bodyguard for Trump. the tiny fingered, Cheeto-faced, ferret wearing shitgibbon, was on CNN today with Brianna Keilar offering his highly intelligent thought provoking, well presented case as to why this was not a totally antisemitic post. Kidding. He sounded...like a Trump surrogate.
LEWANDOWSKI: A tweet is a simple tweet. You can read into things that aren't there. You know, this is a simple star.
KEILAR: Are you saying that...wait wait wait, wait wait wait...you are saying that is a simple star, a simple star that you would expect, you would give a child a sticker, would have five points, not six. You are saying that people are reading too much into this?
LEWANDOWSKI: It is a star that sheriff's departments across the country use all over the place to represent law enforcement. To read into something that isn't there...is main stream media trying to attack Donald Trump...
KEILAR: If there is nothing there, Corey, then why did they pull it?...replace it with a circle?
LEWANDOWSKI: This is political correctness run amok
So let me get this straight, now she is being called a Sheriff? She is law enforcement? Isn't the badge that law enforcement wear an honor? Is he now saying that law enforcement badges are something to be ashamed of?
Keith Olbermann was not having it.
.@CNN must fire this propagandist jackass @CLewandowski_ after his whitewash of @RealDonaldTrump's antisemitism. https://t.co/bpEyrVGZwY

Jeff Sith Lord added his .02
Attention ignorant trolls: the six pointed star has been a symbol of law enforcement in America....are you really unaware?

And oops...a huge development overnight...one that shows just how incredibly inept, clumsy and stupid the Trump campaign and their marketing team is....the true original source for the ad was discovered by Esquire. And it is bad. Like, really, shocking, worse than most of us in the media expected.
Turns out the ad was a meme taken from a alt right Internet message board. It was apparently created on June 22nd.
Esquire reports that the message board is a "digital movement of neo-Nazis, anti-Semites, and white supremacists newly emboldened by the success of Donald Trump's rhetoric."
So at least one of three things happened:
1. The Trump campaign somehow magically replicated an entire graphic, totally by accident, not even knowing this board existed.
2. Someone from the alt-right board sent the image to the Trump campaign and they thought "wow this is awesome, let's totally use it!"
3. The Trump campaign actively scours alt-right and neo-nazi sites for cool graphics to post.
The alt right and white supremacists on Twitter absolutely loved this development yesterday. After I posted the article, I got a ton of tweets. Some rude, some unintelligible, but most fell along the same lines of "he loves us and we love him too!". Here are a few:

This one sums it up, folks.
Trump is turning into the KKK poster boy for 2016. If he loses the presidential election, he can run for Grand Dragon.
