Our friends at Judicial Watch played a fast one with a recent weblog entry.
Read the following paragraph:
One of the guns used in the November 13, 2015 Paris terrorist attacks came from Phoenix, Arizona where the Obama administration allowed criminals to buy thousands of weapons illegally in a deadly and futile “gun-walking” operation known as “Fast and Furious.”
I've seen four rabidly right-wing publications grab this and run with it. "Gun used in Paris attack from Fast and Furious!", they've each exclaimed.
Yet this paragraph is actually saying two things. First, it's saying that a gun used in the Paris attack was traced to a Phoenix gun seller. Then it says Phoenix was the home to the ATF's Fast and Furious operation. But Judicial Watch intentionally phrased the paragraph to give readers an impression that one was linked to the other, simply because the word Phoenix is in both statements.
The rest of the weblog entry is just a bunch of blather trying to obfuscate what it did in the very first paragraph.
I'm patiently waiting to see who picks it up next. Any guesses?
