The coverage we were waiting for....
John Oliver's open for Last Week Tonight was all the coverage we needed to deal with the disaster that is Brexit. When the vote turned out for "leave," I knew I would need Oliver's take on it, and I looked forward to last night's show with as much anticipation as I had for GoT. That's the truth.
Oliver tried to convince Britain last week that they could easily say F*ck You Europe and still stay in the E.U., but the plurality of Britain's voters didn't get the message, and decided without much awareness of the consequences to go ahead and shoot their economy and Commonwealth right in the foot.
Nigel Farage is "three-time cover model for Punchable Face Magazine," and Boris Johnson, "a shaved orangutan with Owen Wilson's hair."
"Whoever the next U.K. prime minister is going to be, whether it's Boris Johnson or a racist tea kettle, they're going to be in for a rough few years."
