During an NBC/Today Show town hall today, Donald Trump was asked by Matt Lauer to comment on the new Harriet Tubman twenty dollar bill and as usual, Trump brought in one of his favorite topics that he uses to bash ideas with - political correctness.

Lauer asked, " Harriet Tubman will now replace Andrew Jackson on the twenty dollar bill. You have so often during this campaign railed against "political correctness." Do you see this as a move that is all about "political correctness" or is this a move that is simply way over due?

I'm not sure why Lauer asked this type of a leading question to Trump. He should have just asked him to comment about it instead of setting him up for a prepared response.

Trump said that he thought Andrew Jackson had a "history of tremendous success for the country, " and Lauer asked him if he was in favor of Tubman?

Trump replied, "I think Harriet Tubman is fantastic. I would love to leave Andrew Jackson, and see if we can maybe come up with another denomination. Maybe we do the $2 bill or another bill. I don’t like seeing it. Yes, I think it’s pure political correctness. Been on the bill for many, many years and really represented somebody that’s really was very important to this country. I would love to see another denomination and that could take place, I think it would be more appropriate..."

Conservatives view most change that has an ethnic flare to be political correctness so he's in line with his party, but it is so insulting to say Harriet Tubman should be on a $2 dollar bill.

As Jamie reminded me, I wonder if Trump is familiar with the Petticoat affair?

And Lauer's performance here was simply not good enough.
