Poor little ISIS-loving rebel David Fry, the very last holdout at the Malheur Refuge, is very upset that he's still being held in custody and claims he's being held as a political prisoner, even as he admits some of the things the Federal government is accusing him of.

For example, at about 2:39 in the video above, Fry says, "They say I declared war against the government." He did.

"It was kind of like satire, it was like one person in the tent declaring war against the government," Fry laughed.

Except as all of us know who watched that unfold in real time, there was nothing very funny about it at all, nor was it "satire."

Fry holds neoNazi views, which he has vocalized on many occasions. He bragged on video that he could hack any computer and had, in fact, hacked the government computers at the reserve.

What happened to "fck your charges, feds!"

And even when it was obvious that the standoff was over and all of his compatriots had surrendered to the FBI, Franklin Graham and wingnut-crazy Michele Fiore, Fry was the last holdout, because he was afraid of being held to account for his crimes.

Here's a description of the hearing Fry is upset about, via The Oregonian:

Per Olson, Fry's lawyer, countered that Fry would be better off at home with his supportive family, working as a technician in his father's dental practice.

He has never been diagnosed with a specific illness or been prescribed medication, Olson said. Fry does have a history of mental health issues but perhaps treatment or counseling could address those, he said.

Fry previously has used marijuana to deal with his problems but understands that's not an option now, Olson told the court.

He put the guns in his car for safekeeping but they didn't belong to him, Olson said.

Fry comes from a "proud military family,'' the defense lawyer said. His father, William Fry, grandfather, four uncles and a brother all served in the Marines. Several relatives and friends wrote letters to the court to support Fry's release.

"Before you is our son, a shy, kindhearted 27-year-old kid who saw an opportunity to speak out about the many problems of our world in a place 'where the world was listening,''' his father wrote.

Those are some enabling parents right there. Seriously enabling.

As for Fry's claims that he wasn't allowed to speak on his own behalf, for a smart guy with computers he's pretty stupid about everything else. That attorney sitting at his table is there so he can have an advocate without piping up with something stupid. This recording, on the other hand, is going to be just one more exhibit they use against him.

This one will also be included in the federal government's case, I'm sure. He or someone on his behalf, posted it on Sunday.

This one appears to be from a written statement, so he won't say anything stupid. Seems like his lawyer was involved in this.

Just listen to him whine and spout conspiracy theories. He blames his continuing custody on weed use, without any regard for the other crimes he committed during his weeks occupying federal property.

At about six minutes in, he once again declares war on the federal government, and it's not satire. It's anger about being denied release pending trial. Poor, poor David Fry.

Also, he would like us all to know that he has been warning about radiation, and the demise of the coal industry. And tyranny. Always tyranny.

Looks to me like the magistrate got this just right.
