Ted Cruz has declared himself a better role model than Donald Trump. Misrepresenting the truth (ie, lying), having zero friends at work, being unable to make friends at school and being the a nationally televised booger eater apparently makes you a better role model. To be fair, he is comparing himself to a hateful, racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, sociopathic bully, Donald Trump. So I guess it's a "lesser of two evil" type situations. Personally, I prefer to pick neither.
During the interview on Face the Nation with John Dickerson, Cruz said:
"I think people are asking themselves, 'How would we feel if our children came in repeating the words of the president of the United States if that president was Donald Trump?' And if it would embarrass you to have your children repeat the words of the president, that's not a good thing. A president should unify us, should appeal to our better angels, should appeal to our shared values that make America who we are. And that is how I'm trying to campaign. I think that's what the American people are looking for."
Cruz also insinuated that the press is "sitting" on some bombshells about Trump that they are going to wait to release until June. Dickerson jumped on that conspiracy theory and asked for further details but Cruz shut that down and refused to answer and just gave his smarmy, booger eating, used car salesman smirk.
