If you thought Fox News was partial to Senator Marco Rubio, you may be correct. While Christie was fighting for his presidential life, he steamrolled the Rubot in the process, which may have destroyed the Florida Senator's chances as well.
Certainly Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and all the rest of the GOP field were grateful for that, but one major Republican honcho was not.
Comparing Chris Christie to a "suicide bomber" is about as bad an insult as one can get from the Republican establishment or from any type of conservative for that matter.
It was just back in 2011, that Murdoch's #1 henchman in the states, Roger Ailes tried to recruit Gov. Christie to run in the general against Obama in 2012.
A few months ago, Ailes called Chris Christie and encouraged him to jump into the race. Last summer, he’d invited Christie to dinner at his upstate compound along with Rush Limbaugh, and like much of the GOP Establishment, he fell hard for Christie, who nevertheless politely turned down Ailes’s calls to run. Ailes had also hoped that David Petraeus would run for president, but Petraeus too has decided to sit this election out, choosing to stay on the counterterrorism front lines as the head of Barack Obama’s CIA.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
Since 2011, I always felt that Christie would be the most formidable Republican candidate moving forward in a general election because he is such a good speaker and debater (when he's not beating up teachers) so it's nice to see conservatives take out one of their own.
