I think our readers would take comfort in the fact that most viewers who identify with the Republican Party, including pundits at Fox 'News,' found the Democratic Debate hosted by PBS last night, painfully boring. Of course they found it hard to watch, there weren't third grade insults and Jebus talk being hurled around the stage, where's the fun in that? As John Fugelsang said this morning, 'if you were bored by the debate, you're probably voting for Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio or Donald Trump.'
The 'Cyber Guy,' Kurt Knutsson, provided the Fox viewers a rundown of the debate based on Google, Twitter and Facebook statistics. Twitter had an equal number (50/50) of tweets in favor of either candidate. Facebook, however, went to Sanders by a three to one margin.
It was rather comical to see what were the most popular Google trends from the debate. In fact, they were downright rudimentary, giving us a window into the mind of the average, not-so-informed American voter. It seriously boggles the mind that these are real questions.
The Cyber Guy admitted the debate was informative and he came away knowing much more about each candidate. But the most important aspect of the debate, the ratings, were much more dismal than the Trump insult fests on the Right. Fox 'News' viewers would never be able to endure almost two hours of substantive issues that actually affect their lives, they want a clown show, and for that, they have their own network.
