These days, the only qualifications needed to be asked to appear on the Sunday morning talk shows circuit is to identify as a conservative and make demeaning comparisons. Your history of offensive remark after offensive remark after offensive remark or scandals mean practically nothing to the network bookers these days.
I can understand Fox News hiring Erick Erickson as an analyst even after he called Justice Souter a "goat f*cking child molester" because that's how they roll, but inviting him on Meet The Press, just a few days after he compared Planned Parenthood and Cecile Richards to Josef Mengele and the Nazis, based on bogus videos that have their creator in hot water with the law is completely mindnumbing.
If a liberal blogger or pundit made this type of statement about a conservative, they'd be blackballed out of the traditional media.
In a February 24 blog for his website TheResurgent.com, Erickson asserted that Richards is "America's own version of Josef Mengele" because Planned Parenthood is a "mass murdering organization ... which chops up children and harvests their body parts for sale":
At a time more and more open white supremacists are backing Donald Trump, America's own version of Josef Mengele, Cecile Richards, is praising Donald Trump's defense of her mass murdering organization.
Richards presides over Planned Parenthood, which chops up children and harvests their body parts for sale, including storing whole children in freezers for later sale.
Millions of children have died at the hands of Cecile Richards' organization and Donald Trump calls her organization "wonderful."
Erickson has a long history of well documented revolting things he's written or said, but here's Chuck Todd (I don't blame him for the booking) asking Erick about the last Republican debate.
CHUCK TODD: Alright, it is becoming WWE. There are nights that I thought like the debate, Erick, was WWE Raw. Am I on USA? Am I on the right channel? This is not good for the party.
ERICK ERICKSON: No it's not. Donald Trump has brought the party down to a new low. He's feeding off of people's anger about this country on both parties. There are legitimate grievances feeding into the anger, but it's becoming unhealthy. I think Rubio and Cruz had to do what they did, to prove they could dish it back out to Donald Trump. Voters who are supporting Donald Trump, they are looking for the alpha dog. You are going to show that you could be the alpha as well. Unfortunately, it turns American politics into more of a farce that it already is.
EE has been turning American politics into a farce much longer than Trump has. Aren't there any other conservative analysts out there who don't use degrading and despicable language to book on TV?
That's your media in action, folks.
