After months of promoting Donald Trump, giving him hours of free air time, failing to point out Trump's white nationalist base, and willfully ignoring the dangerous movement Trump fuels, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough has suddenly gotten the vapors over Trump's failure to immediately denounce David Duke's KKK endorsement.
Here are just a few times where Joe Scarborough could have spoken sooner.
- September 1, 2015 - Jared Taylor, who later helped with white nationalist robocalls into Iowa, explains why Trump is his guy. "White people just want to be left alone," said Taylor
- December 15, 2015 - Stormfront hails the 'insurgency' Trump sparked.
- February 21, 2016 - Trump retweets white supremacists and makes excuses for it.
None of these registered a blip on Scarborough's disqualification chart. Yet, here we are, early in the morning, with Scarborough suddenly registering disgust at this?
Well, it turns out it's not really that Scarborough suddenly came to Jesus and realized Trump is a racist building a white nationalist movement. It's just a little more posturing, as he demonstrated during a later interview with Mike Huckabee.
The real Joe Scarborough stood up and declared, "So I don't think Donald Trump is a racist. I've known the guy for ten years. I do think, though, he may be playing to some people's most base instincts."
Hey, Joe. Friends don't let friends build white nationalist movements, which is what Trump the Builder is building right now.
